Spring is the perfect time to make positive and refreshing changes in your life. Spring is all about renewing and breathing into new healthier habits. Now is the perfect time for you to focus on your mind, body, and spirit and take time for you. Make your health and joy a priority and love the skin you’re in. Take a look at easy tips for you to spring into action!

Get More Sleep: Sleep is the time when your body’s immune system jumps into action to renew and heal inside and out. Health professionals recommend getting a minimum of eight hours of shut-eye each night. While this may seem impossible to you, making a few changes to your nighttime routine is doable. First, go to bed earlier. Turn off all electronic devices, take a warm bubble bath and enjoy a non-caffeinated tea. Before you know it, you’ll be sleeping like a baby and feeling refreshed the next day.

Take A Walk Every Day: Walking is one of the best forms of exercise. Not only do you increase your heart rate and metabolism, but you also get outside to enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Simply walk around your neighborhood or at the local trail. This will help you sleep better and provide mental clarity. Plus it’s good for your skin as walking vigorously promotes cell renewal.

Devote One Day For You: Women are always helping the loved ones in their lives. They rarely think about themselves. If this sounds like you, it’s time to devote one day to you. Catch up on your favorite program or podcast, read a good book, call a friend, join a yoga class, take a warm bath, or get a facial. This adds joy and energizes your spirit.

Start a Gratitude Journal: A gratitude journal is a personal diary where you record the wonderful things in your life. Make a commitment to write a few paragraphs every day. If you make it part of your daily routine and dedicate a certain time to this process, it will come naturally, and you will look forward to this time. When you are feeling down, refer to your entries, like a time capsule, to remember how grateful you are for so many people and things.

Drink More Water: We are 60 percent water and need to remember to stay hydrated. Most of us don’t drink enough water. Soda, juice, and coffee don’t count! Experts recommend you drink eight, eight eight-ounce glasses of water daily. Liven up your H2O by adding cucumber slices, berries, lemons, or mint leaves for a delicious nutritional boost.

Pay It Forward: Do something nice for someone this Spring. Help neighbors spruce up their landscaping, take a parent to lunch, pay for someone's order behind you in the drive-through or simply smile and say hello to a stranger. Acts of simple kindness are good for your mind, body, and soul. Happy Spring!
